Milwaukee Chapter Luncheon

On October 18, 2008 the Milwaukee Luncheon was held. At 10:00 am, the Board of Directors met for the Annual meeting of the Veterans of the Chicago and North Western Railway. We had Election of Officers which are as follows effective January 1, 2009: General President: Donald Mundth, General Vice President: William Regner, and General Secretary/Treasurer Dewayne Stiefvater.

Also, the Directors voted to raise the dues effective January 1, 2009. They will be $4.00 for everyone if working or retired. New members will also be $4.00. This will make things less confusing. Any dues post marked before January1, 2009 will be at old price of $3.00.

After the Directors meeting, 91 people started assembling for a terrific Luncheon at 12:30 pm. They had Stuffed Pork Chop, Stuffed Chicken Breast or Baked Cod. We had cash bar and a lot of Railroad Stories. The ladies kind of huddled together and talked lady talk. They don't care for Railroad talk. After a few jokes and a drawing for a lot Door Prizes and a lot of Raffle Prizes, we had a change of our Milwaukee Chapter President. Jack Holloway resigned after 16 years. He turned his records and his gavel over to recently retired Curtis Schmidt. Our other officers stayed the same. I want to thank Jack Holloway for his years of service. He will continue on the General Board of Directors. I also want to thank Curtis Schmidt and also Bill Regner and his wife Mo for collecting all our door prizes for us. They tell me they already have some for next year. After all the prizes and business meeting was over everyone all headed home or to other destinations.
