Kenosha was a busy place on the railroad back in the
early 1950’s as attested to by the list of industrial customers shown below –
68 in total – all served by rail.
There is actually one more that we cannot read as it is cut off at the
bottom of the original list below the Vincent McCall Co. The North Western had the bulk of them – 61
including 2 served jointly with the North Shore Line. Several switch jobs were needed in those
days, both 1st & 2nd shift. Most of these industries no longer exist. Today, almost 60 years later, there is only one
