The last two C&NW units, the 8646 and the 8701, are at Smith Road in Wayne on Tuesday afternoon, June 27, 1906, ready to head for Belvidere with Engineer Tommy Tucker (left) and Conductor Mike Poplilek. Tommy is the last CGW man on the system having started at Sycamore, IL at age 17. |
