Green Bay Chapter Luncheon

The Green Bay Chapter of the C&NW Veterans Association had our 18th annual luncheon meeting at the Stadium View on Friday September 16,

2011.  This is close to Lambeau Field.

 

The following minutes to be read at our next meeting at Titletown Brewery on Wednesday October 19, 2011.

 

President Truman Koehn of the C&NW Veterans Chapter gave a summary of the minutes of the previous meeting held at the National Railroad Museum

on Wednesday August 17, 2011

 

76 members and non-members were in attendance at the luncheon at the Stadium View, in the private Traditions Room.

 

Truman then lead all in the "Pledge of Allegiance" and followed with the "Invocation” before our dinner which was served promptly at 12:30PM.

 

Dinner consisted of chicken & tenderloin tips and was well received.

 

Dick Piontek, Legislative officer, gave his report.

 

Herb Hessil read the 22 names of members and non-members that have passed away in the last year, in our area, since our last annual luncheon meeting in September 2010.  President Koehn asked people in attendance if there was anyone not listed and none were reported.

 

Lauren Bockin, Sec. Treas. gave a short financial report.

 

Election of officers has been dispensed in recent years.

 

Officers from local and visiting chapters, along with general officers were recognized and asked to make remarks if they wished.

 

Sick members and non-members were reported by those in attendance. These included Bob Belfanz, Cliff Bouche and Bob Kidd.

 

Truman Koehn told a couple of short stories of historical interest to the group and Rod Ewert had a joke to tell.

 

Raffle and door prizes were given out and this part of the program was well received.

 

The annual luncheon meeting was adjourned at 2:45 pm.

 

Our next meeting (after October 19, 2011) will be on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at the National Railroad Museum, at 9:00 am, 2285 South Broadway in

Ashwaubenon.
