The Green Bay Chapter of the C&NW Veterans Association held our 16th Annual Dinner Meeting at the Stadium View, near Lambeau Field, on Saturday September 19, 2009.

The social part of the meeting took place from 11:00 am until 12:25 pm.

President Truman Koehn of the Green Bay Chapter called the dinner meeting to order at 12:25 pm, then lead all in the "Pledge of Allegiance" and the Invocation, followed by the dinner.

There were 70 members and guests in attendance at the dinner. We then enjoyed a dinner of chicken and tenderloin tips. After dinner, Truman read the minutes from our monthly meeting of August 19, 2009 followed by the introduction of the local chapter officers. Our local officers being Vice President Herb Hessil, Legislative Representative Dick Piontek, and Lauren Bockin, Secretary / Treasurer. Dick Piontek then gave his legislative report followed by Lauren Bockin who gave a short financial report. Truman then read a list of C&NW employees that have died since our last dinner meeting, which was held on September 20, 2008. They include Alvin DeMoulin, Delbert Skelton, Clarence Madsen, Larry Socha, Robert Konkol and Wencil Blowhowiak. We then had a moment of silence and reflection for these co-workers. Truman reported on sick members including Pete Peters and Dewayne Stiefvater, and then asked the floor if any others were known; no one responded. Visiting Association Officers and General Officers were then recognized and given an opportunity to speak.

Dan Sylvester, who along with his wife Yvonne, was scheduled to be our entertainment became sick the day before our meeting and were unable to attend. Rod Ewert & Dewayne Stiefvater told a few jokes to fill in the entertainment segment. Door prizes and raffle prizes were then given out. Our meeting was then adjourned. Our next monthly meeting will be Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Titletown Brewing Company, the former C&NW passenger depot, at 200 Dousman St. in Green Bay.
