The Green Bay Chapter of the C&NW Veterans Association held its annual dinner and meeting at the Rock Garden Supper Club on Saturday, September 20, 2008. 50 members and guests attended, as well as many from visiting chapters. Entertainment was provided by Dan and Yvonne Sylvester from the Kenosha - Waukegan chapter. Our raffle was a success.
3 weeks prior to our annual dinner, our chapter's secretary-treasurer, Robert Meehan, unexpectedly passed away leaving a substantial void to fill at the last minute. Bob was a very instrumental every year in making the preparations for this annual dinner. Former general president Rod Ewert volunteered to aid the local officers and our annual dinner went off smoothly despite the loss of Bob Meehan during the most important chapter event of the year. At this moment the Green Bay chapter is attempting to fill the office of secretary-treasurer and we are engaged in making this transition.
The officers of the Green Bay chapter thank everyone who participated in this year’s dinner and we look forward to your presence in 2009.
