Florida Chapter Luncheon – 01/28/2012
The 48th Annual Luncheon of the Florida Chapter of the C&NW Veterans Association was held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse in the Clarion Hotel in Fort Myers, Florida. There was a social hour from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon provided by Attorney Will Moody. No bar was provided in our room, so we went to the bar in the restaurant. No flag or podium was set up for our meeting. At 12:00 noon, the meeting was called to order by President Jim Hansen. The meeting was opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance initiated by Gerry Oleson. President Jim thanked the 54 people for attending. The following people were elected as the officers for the year 2012: President, Dan Barden Vice President, Tom Olsen Secretary/Treasurer, Bonnie Jarmy remains on her post We collected $290.00 for the 50/50 raffle drawing. Charlie McLaughlin won the big prize. The meeting was adjourned and the fun continued at the restaurant bar. The next morning 15 people met at a nearby restaurant for breakfast. Thank you notes were sent to all contributors of gifts. We’ve received some photographs from the event and they are posted here.
